Fr. Karl's Monthly Newsletter
April 28, 2010
Dear Friends:
With all the trees in leaf and in bloom it looks like an early spring. Pray
that the weather will be great for our Parish Festival May 28, 29,
and 30. Two weeks ago the Sunday Bulletin included a flier describing
all the ways in which you can help and whom to call as you volunteer. Thanks
to all who are deeply engaged in the preparations.
This past week was a “grace-filled period” in which Bishop Callahan
confirmed 56 high-school juniors from our West Allis West Milwaukee parishes.
Nearly seven hundred worshippers filled our church on Friday evening, April 23.
Eight second graders received their First Communion last weekend and two more
will this coming Sunday. Thanks to all who helped prepare the Confirmed and the
First Communicants.
Parish Council Elections are coming up in May. How
about YOU? The selection committee is still seeking candidates.
Call Katie Riley 414-258-9738 or Darryl Draeger 414-453-9806 to enter your
name or to nominate someone else.
“Thanks” (“Mesi ampil” in Creole) from
the people of Haiti. Our parishioners responded generously to the
earthquake appeal to the tune of $7,300.00. God love you
all.
Equally, our parish response the Archdiocesan Faith in our Future campaign
has returned to the parish $44,534.57 as of March 31. These
funds helped complete the re-roofing of the Church and School building, the
first of our three goals. We currently have over $12,000 in the account for
the next project – the Church entrance canopy.
Think Spring!
