Fr. Karl's Monthly Newsletter
September 27, 2009
Dear Friends:
Christian Formation Programs and classes have resumed. We welcome all students
and staff to a new year of growth in Christ. Jan Grosschadl leads our “Gift” program,
sometimes called “Generations In Faith”. This approach takes
in people of all ages (children to adults) with a monthly gathering
including a meal. The group breaks into age appropriate meetings for instruction
(Sunday mornings and Monday evenings).
Kathy Smith is our new Director of “Young Adult and Adult Formation”.
We extend an enthusiastic welcome to Kathy who succeeds Sr. Rosie Bonk, who
received a call from her religious order (Notre Dames) to an administrative
position at the Motherhouse. Kathy will be introduced to the congregation at
weekend masses soon.
You may have noticed that this letter is dated “September 27”,
which is the Feast of St. Vincent de Paul. Just about every Catholic Parish
has a St.Vincent de Paul group engaged in all kinds of assistance to those
in need. In the early 1600’s Vincent de Paul began this ministry in France.
In addition to our Food Pantry and “Bundle Sundays”, many other
works of charity are done quietly without public knowledge. We all can help
in three ways: through our prayers, through our food contributions on the first
weekend of the month, and by our financial assistance making use of the monthly
special “St. Vincent de Paul Envelope” included in this mailing
each month. Our IHM local conference of St. Vincent de Paul is a special blessing
to our parish and the surrounding territory.
Enjoy the fall colors,
