Bereavement Ministry
Contact:
Kathy Smith 414-453-5192

Bereavement ministry offers spiritual and emotional support to those experiencing the loss and grief resulting from the death of a loved one. Those involved in this ministry provide follow-up care for grieving families to which they are assigned on a rotating basis. Ministers are asked to attend the wake service and/or funeral, if possible, and remain in contact with the family for a period of one year by sending cards or making phone calls. The time commitment is determined by the minister’s availability and the family’s needs. Ministers are also invited to attend periodic meetings of this committee and may participate in planning/executing annual prayer services or programs devoted to grief support.
